Gensler recently announced the winners of its Opportunity Scholarship, and among the ten winners was Syracuse University student Ankur Moolky. Ankur, a fifth-year B. Arch student, wrote about his desire to merge data-driven insights with user and community research to design thoughtful, carefully crafted spaces.
"I see the architect’s greatest value not as the act of imposing form, but as the process of shaping outcomes: healthier environments, equitable access to space, and systems that allow people to play an active role in how their environments evolve," Moolky says. "Design, for me, is the act of synthesizing complex lived realities into built environments that serve people with intention and care."
Ankur plans to use the funds to further his interest and research in computational design.
