HDR's Codon is exhibited at the KANEKO Soirée in Omaha

News

On Friday, October 16th, the KANEKO opened it's doors for its 2026 Soirée, a gathering where art, ideas, and people converge. Among the installations being exhibited was Codon, an application designed by architecture and engineering firm HDR's Data-Driven Design team.

Working closely in a team of three, interns Ankur Moolky, Chloe Ni, and Patrick Rodriguez conducted UX research, identified pain points, and built out an AI-native application to accelerate healthcare planning and design during the summer of 2026. This work continued into the fall under the guidance of Principals Matt Goldsberry and Ian Thomas, where an extended team reformatted the application and interface and built a physical Arduino system for an interactive, agentic CAD modeling display.

The exhibit allowed viewers to toggle AI agents with different architectural design methodologies on and off, influencing the design that the agents were collectively building in real-time.
